 Notes:  Andrew was a shepherd.  1851 Scholar, 9, living with Angus McGillivray (possibly his uncle, acc. to Jane McGillivray), at Achnaloddan.  1861 ploughman at Lagg.  1891 Shepherd, 49, employed, born Daviot parish, Nairnshire, speaks Gaelic & English, living at Achnalodden in house with 3 windowed rooms, with wife Marjory, b Daviot, Inverness-shire, speaks Gaelic & English, and their 6 children: Annie, 16; John, 8; Angus, 6 (all 3  scholars); William, 4; Donald, 2; Archibald, 10 months.  A.  All born in daviot parish, Nairnshire; all those aged 2 & older spoke Gaelic & English.  Also living in household was Alexander Ross, lodger, widower, 56, labourer (employed), born Farr, Sutherland, speaks Gaelic & English.  1901, living in Shepherd's House, Dunmaglass (3 windowed rooms; semi-detached), 59, shepherd, with wide May, 48, 4 sons John, single, 18, estate labourer, William 14, Donald 12, Archibald 10 and Catherine 9, all scholars, born Daviot & Dunlichity parish, Inverness-shire, all spoke Gaelic & English.  1911 living at Dunmaglass in house with 3 windowed rooms.  2 people in household: Andrew McGillivray, head, 70, speaks Gaelic & English, married.  May McGillivray, wide, 58, speaks Gaelic and English, married (31 years married; 7 children born alive; 6 still living).  Both born in parish of Daviot, Inverness-shire.

 Notes: After her shepherd husband Andrew died in 1912, widow May McGillivray seems to have moved out of the estate house at Dunmaglass and into a house at 8 Crown Street, Inverness, where she lived for the remaining 24 years of her life.  She did not remarry.
