Photographs from personal archive of Catriona Watt or McPhail, granddaughter of Lizzie and High McPhail.  Hugh was the "bodach" (old man) for Catriona, and Lizzie was "granny".  Lizzie McPhail kept the shop at Cornaigbeg which was open late into the evenings.  When the shop closed for the night she would fry some onions for supper with one or two of her friends who helped at the shop.

A visit to Shalla-ree, Errol, in July 2009, by three Tiree-born second cousins of Eleanor and Freda Swanney, here pictured:  Christine and Elma McArthur, and Catriona Watt, maiden name McPhail, and Catriona's husband Bobby Watt (from left to right, flanked by Scot Symon, Jill Milne, maiden name Scott, Jill's three children Scott, Emily and Ross, and Eleanor Swanney (Symon) and Freda Swanney (Scott).

Catriona's father was Callum (Malcolm) McDougall McPhail and her mother Mary MacLean.  Elma and Christine's mother was Iseabal McPhail, who married James McArthur.  Iseabal and Callum McPhail's father was Hugh McPhail and their mother was his wife Elizabeth (Lizzie) McDougall.  Lizzie's sister, Catherine (Kate) was Eleanor and Freda's grandmother.
